Making Money The Right Niche

Making Money The Right Niche

Most of the people who start their journey to success online know at least what a niche is. And most people take niche research rather lightly. The thing with making money online has a lot of similarity to fishing. Just what do I mean by that?

Allow me to explain – Some great marketer once told a story about his childhood. He says when he was still a young boy, he used to go fishing with his father. After many fishing trips, he realized that the key to successful fishing is the location. If you are fishing at a spot where there are no FISH… then you will never catch any fish at all no matter how long you decide to sit there and wait.

The Right Niche Is Half The Journey.

However, if you are at a spot full of fish… things become really easy. Sure there might be ‘more’ people fishing at the same spot… but there’re so much fish available you can easily catch them with a scoop of a net. So this story here tells us one thing and that is to make money online, you need to know exactly where the money is.

With that said, this also means that niche research is really important. This is so true that a lot of people are not making money online simply because they were in the wrong niche the entire time. So if you are not making any money right now, sit back and ask yourself… are you in the right niche?

Are you selling to the right people? Are you using the right bait? More often than not… if you are having trouble making money online, you should reconsider the niche you are in especially if you are in an unpopular niche. These unpopular niches are unpopular for a reason. So wake up and move on. Find where the money really is and start over again there.

I am not saying you can’t make any money at all in small niches. As long as the market is right and there is a crowd there willing to bite your bait, then you are good. However, beware of niche where people are never going to buy anything.

Many gurus teach their students about how you should choose you niche according to your passion. This is very good, in fact, if you are in a hot niche already. But if your passion is in a ‘dead’ niche, then you might need to consider moving on. After all… you are in this to make money right?

So be sure that you are in a big enough niche that can make you money. Stay away from niches that nobody talks about. The only time when you should consider hidden niches is that you actually know for a fact that there are a lot of buyers and that no one else knows about this. Then it would of course be a great idea to start a trend there in this new-found niche. But how about the competition you asked?

One general rule to follow if not to fear your competitors. What you can do is study your competitors and try to do what they are doing while striving to do better. Make sure your product is of absolute quality and make sure you can show your customers that you can provide the solution they want for the best price.

Some marketers known as Niche marketers actually go about making money in multiple niches. What they would do consistently is to search online for HOT niches that are making people money every single day. Some of these marketers even develop softwares that can easily spot these niches out for them and luckily for you, some of these great softwares are available for purchase as well.

By making use of these softwares, these niche marketers are able to identity strong and profitable niches fast and then after doing a little bit more research, they would start marketing to the niches they found via the softwares aggressively.

Most niche marketers would build a product around the niche and start building a list in that niche as well. If you choose not to build an entire product line, you can consider affiliate marketing on that certain niche while at the same time building a list as you go along.

This way, you get to market stuff to your subscribers over and over again A Niche marketer’s model is quite simple. Locate the niche, and then marketer to the niche. On certain niches that do well, they will even start an affiliate program where other affiliates will start making money for them. This is one of the best forms of marketing models available online because once you have an affiliate system that works you will be paid over and over again until you decide to quit.

If you are afraid of competitors, you can also choose to enter mid-sized niches with fewer competitors. Again, these smaller niches can be easily found using softwares. Another type of niche you can try are sub-niches. Sub niches are small niches that branch out from main niches. A good example of a sub niche would be ‘Fat Loss after Pregnancy’.

You can tell that this sub niche is very specific and it only targets a certain type of people. However, when you think about it, in a mega niche like weight loss, entering a sub niche would be a better choice to avoid all the cut-throat competition.

Hence if you are ever in a pinch or having that uneasy feeling that you are not in the right niche or if your niche is a ‘dead’ one… you are probably right. Seek for a better niche and you might just see the success you have been looking for.
